Guide for Authors
Comprehensive instructions for preparing and submitting your manuscript to the Journal of Artificial Intelligence in Interdisciplinary Studies (JAIIS).
1. Before You Begin
Ethics in Publishing and Competing Interest
JAIIS strictly adheres to the ethical guidelines set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors are required to consult our dedicated pages on Ethics in Publishing before submission. Furthermore, a formal Declaration of Competing Interest is mandatory; all authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships, such as employment, consultancies, or grants, that could inappropriately influence their work. These disclosures ensure the transparency and integrity of the interdisciplinary research published in JAIIS.
Submission Declaration and Inclusive Language
Submission of a manuscript implies that the work has not been previously published (except as an abstract or academic thesis) and is not under consideration elsewhere. It also signifies that the publication has been approved by all authors and relevant authorities. JAIIS is committed to the use of inclusive language, which acknowledges diversity and conveys respect to all people without making assumptions about the beliefs or commitments of any reader. Content must be framed to promote equal opportunities and sensitivity to differences across all disciplines.
AI Usage Policy
In alignment with our focus on Artificial Intelligence, the use of generative AI tools (e.g., LLMs) in data analysis, manuscript writing, or figure generation must be explicitly disclosed within the Methodology or Acknowledgments section. When disclosing AI involvement, authors must specify the model name and version used (e.g., GPT-4o, Claude 3.5). It is a strict policy of JAIIS that AI tools cannot be listed as co-authors, as they cannot take legal or ethical responsibility for the research findings.
2. Manuscript Preparation
Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise English. We accept files in Word (.docx) format. Please download and use the following documents for your submission:
General Guidelines and Article Standards
JAIIS primarily publishes original, unpublished research that contributes to the interdisciplinary study of Artificial Intelligence. Manuscripts must be prepared as an Original Research article, typically ranging between 6,000 and 8,000 words (excluding references) to ensure a comprehensive analysis of the research problem. Each submission must include a structured, single-paragraph abstract of 150 to 250 words , followed by key terms representing fields such as Educational Technology or Social Sciences. To maintain rigorous academic standards, authors are encouraged to include a maximum of 60 references and a combined total of no more than 8 figures and tables.
Article Structure
- Title Page: Include a concise and informative title, author names and affiliations, and corresponding author contact details.
- Abstract: A concise and factual abstract is required. The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results and major conclusions.
- Keywords: Immediately after the abstract, provide a maximum of 6 keywords.
- Introduction: State the objectives of the work and provide an adequate background, avoiding a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results.
- Material and Methods: Provide sufficient details to allow the work to be reproduced by an independent researcher.
- Results: Results should be clear and concise.
- Discussion: This should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them.
- Conclusions: The main conclusions of the study may be presented in a short Conclusions section.
Formatting Requirements
Manuscripts must be prepared using Lora as the standard font throughout the entire document to ensure a modern and consistent academic presentation. The main body text should be set at 12 pt with a line spacing of 1.15, while the abstract section requires a more compact formatting of 11 pt and 1.0 (single) line spacing to distinguish it from the primary content. Authors must ensure that all pages are numbered consecutively.
Artwork and Figures
Ensure that all figures are of high resolution (minimum 300 dpi for halftones, 600 dpi for line art). Number figures consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text.
References
References should follow the APA 7th Edition style. Ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa).
3. Submission Process
The JAIIS online submission system provides a streamlined, step-by-step interface for entering article metadata and uploading all necessary documentation. To ensure a professional and unbiased evaluation, the system utilizes a double-blind peer review model. Authors must initially submit their work in a completely anonymized format. Once a manuscript successfully passes the peer review phase and is accepted for publication, authors will be required to submit a final, non-anonymized version that includes full author details, affiliations, and the complete DOI information.
Double-Blind Peer Review Compliance
To maintain the highest standards of objectivity, both the reviewers and the authors remain
anonymous throughout the evaluation process. Authors are strictly responsible for anonymizing their
manuscripts to ensure that no identifying information—such as names, institutional affiliations, or specific
references to their previous work that could imply identity—is present within the main text or metadata.
Consequently, the initial submission must consist of the following two separate files only:
1. Anonymized Manuscript: This is the primary research paper following the official JAIIS
Lora template, containing the title, abstract, keywords, and the full body of the paper without any
author-related details.
2. Copyright Transfer & Author Agreement Form: A signed copy of the official JAIIS form,
ensuring compliance with the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license and confirming the originality of the work.
Ready to submit?
Before initiating the process, please ensure you have your Anonymized Manuscript and the signed Copyright Transfer Form ready for upload.

Proofs and Final Review
One set of page proofs (as PDF files) will be sent via e-mail to the corresponding author. This stage is intended solely for checking the typesetting, completeness, and correctness of the text, tables, and figures. Significant changes to the article content after it has been accepted for publication will only be considered with explicit permission from the Editor. Authors are expected to return their proof corrections within the specified timeframe to ensure timely publication in the upcoming issue.
Copyright and Open Access Licensing
JAIIS is a fully open-access journal dedicated to the unrestricted dissemination of interdisciplinary AI research. In accordance with the Copyright Transfer & Author Agreement signed during the initial submission, all articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) license. This license allows others to download and share your work with proper attribution, but prohibits commercial use and any modifications or adaptations of the original content.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
To support the global academic community and encourage interdisciplinary dialogue, JAIIS does not charge any Article Processing Charges (APC) or submission fees. Publication in this journal is entirely free of charge for authors, ensuring that high-quality research is accessible to all without financial barriers.
